Viscount Trencavel
Viscount Trencavel was born into the noble Trencavel family in the year 1090 in the city of Béziers, located in the southern region of France. His father, Roger II, was the previous viscount of Béziers and Agde, and his mother, Adelaide, was a member of the powerful Montpellier family. From a young age, Trencavel was trained in the art of warfare and politics, as he was groomed to take over the family's vast holdings.
